Woodlawn got on the board first in its Friday night matchup against Briarwood Christian, but the Lions scored 38 unanswered points to get the win. The 38-6 victory moved Briarwood to 6-1 overall and a league-leading 5-0 in 5A, Region 5 play. Woodlawn fell to 2-5 and 2-3. Woodlawn’s Laguarrius Wilson ran for a 6-yard touchdown to go up 6-0 after a missed extra point, then Briarwood Christian followed up with seven scoring drives--starting with a William Gray 9-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Daniels and a 2-yard quarterback sneak from Gray in the first half. Third quarter scoring began with a Woodlawn punt blocked by Gabe Russell and picked up by Carson Donnelly for a 20-yard touchdown run. Briarwood added a 43-yard touchdown pass from Gray to Luke Miskelley, a Noah Nall 28-yard field goal and a 4-yard touchdown run from Carson Eddy.
