HOLLEY LEADS PEA RIDGE PAST LINCOLN

LINCOLN -- Zane Holley scored three first-quarter touchdowns to lead Pea Ridge past Lincoln 35-13 Friday night at Wolf Pack Stadium. "I'm really proud of the way we executed tonight," Pea Ridge coach Tony Travis said. "It was a weird pre-game; kind of quiet. I wondered if we were mentally ready to come out and play with some intensity." Any doubt Travis had that his Blackhawks weren't up for the challenge quickly vanished when Holley took Pea Ridge's first snap from scrimmage 50 yards for a touchdown. That score gave Pea Ridge (5-0, 2-0 4A-1) the momentum, Travis said, and the Blackhawks were off to the races. Holley scored twice more in the quarter on runs of 2 and 21 yards, respectively, putting Lincoln (1-4, 0-2) in a 21-0 hole at the end of the opening quarter. "Pea Ridge did a good job. We didn't execute tonight and they did," Lincoln coach Don Harrison said. "They could've beaten us 100-0 if they wanted to." Pea Ridge quarterback Jakota Sainsbury connected with Hayden Holtgrewe for a touchdown midway through the second quarter. Holley tacked on his fourth touchdown about three minutes later, punching it in from 4 yards. The Blackhawks had a 35-0 lead at halftime. The Pea Ridge defense held Lincoln to just 35 yards of offense in the first half and allowed one first down. Lincoln scored twice in the second half following botched punt attempts from Pea Ridge. Wolves quarterback Harrison Swayne led two late scoring drives, connecting with Dalton Lee in the third quarter for a 14-yard touchdown pass. Later, with 2:28 left in regulation, Swayne scored again on a 9-yard run.
