On Wednesday, May 24th, the CBA Athletics Department held its annual Spring Awards Convocation in the varsity gym. The night honored the nine spring varsity sports teams: baseball, crew, golf, lacrosse, outdoor track, rugby, sailing, tennis and volleyball. Not surprisingly, CBA performed excellently in each of those nine sports, qualifying for national championships, winning state and conference championships, and demonstrating the brotherhood that comes with being CBA athletes. "You came to CBA because you wanted to be a part of something special - something bigger than yourself," Director of Athletics Vito Chiaravalloti told the students in attendance. "My hope is that your sport and your time as a CBA athlete has taught you one simple, yet important lesson: to push yourself each and every day to become the best version of yourself." The night gave due to the accomplishments of each team, while also presenting new letter winners their CBA varsity letter. Returning letter men received a commemorative item, acknowledging another year of varsity sport participation. Each team chooses superlative awards, including a Most Valuable Player and one or more Coaches Award honors. The athletics department also honored 18 senior scholar-athletes with special plaques. These seniors maintained a 92 GPA throughout their four years at CBA and earned one or more varsity letters. The following seniors were named scholar-athletes: Matthew Prince, Emanuel Lazzaro, Joseph LaForgia, Sam Weber, Colin Lankau, Christopher Lautato, Nick Ebert, Matthew Kelly, Daniel Berkowitz, Matthew Mawson, Collin Seebeck, Matthew Lautato, Patrick Kollman, Christian Berger, John Shea, Christopher Ferrigine, Brian Golden, & Kirin Bhattacharya.
